Easter Eggstravaganza 2017

On Saturday  15th, Sunday 16th and Monday 17th April  the museum will be open for our annual Easter Eggstravaganza!

This Easter weekend join us at the museum for a variety of children’s and adult’s activities.

  • Follow the Easter Egg to get a chocolate egg from the Easter bunny (Sunday only)
  • A host of historical re-enactors will be living on site. See especially regular visitors the Wychwood Warriors Vikings demonstrating Viking life and crafts, and the Trailblazers western re-enactors .
  • See our regular exhibits of vintage tractors and farming implements.
  • Ride on the Derwent Valley Light Railway on Easter Sunday & Monday.

Our new free audio guide will help you to make the most of your visit to the site.

The Farmhouse Kitchen Cafe will be open serving a range of hot and cold refreshments throughout the weekend.



During the Easter Holidays:

  • A series of scheduled hands on historic activities will be running on one of our living history sites or in the museum.
  • 31st March – Learn to Knit with Penny Hemingway. (Advance booking essential).
    • AM – Parent and child learn to knit workshop. Free of charge to museum visitors.
    • PM – Adults learn to knit workshop. (Admission to museum plus £15 to cover materials and tuition).
