 Generally we can offer one of two services in your school.

1. In-School Presentations
This includes a costumed member of our living history staff giving a half-day talk on any one of an ever-growing range of topics. These include;

Celts - Romans - Saxons - Vikings - Medieval - Conquistador - Tudors - Spanish Armada - Gunpowder Plot - English Civil War - WWI Trenches - WWII Home front - WWII Battle of Britain

Other topics can be covered - please refer to our leaflet or contact us to discuss any specific requirements.

Interpreters will give a lively and interesting talk, using many replica artefacts as prompts with question and answers throughout the session. Our aim is to communicate an understanding of what life was like for the ordinary person in particular periods of history.

Each session lasts 2 hours; prices are listed below plus 45p per mile travel expenses from York, Oldham or Shipley.

Group size up to Y6:

1 class (up to 30 children) - £130

2 classes (31 - 60 children) - £135

3 classes (61 - 90) - £150

Group Size Year 7 and above:

All talks £150 (maximum 90 children)

2. In-School Days
A member of our living history team will come and run an activity day in your school. This can be based around the following themes:

Roman - Viking - Medieval - Tudor

All costumes and craft materials are provided.

The maximum number of children for each session is 60, with the exception of Tudor Activity days which is a maximum of 50.

Fewer than 43 pupils the cost is the minimum fee of £300.00 plus 45p per mile travel expenses.

For Roman and Viking days the cost is £7 per child for numbers between 44 and 60

For Tudor days the the cost is £7 per child for numbers between 44 and 50
