Unique living history services for schools
We offer a range of period specific, hands-on activity full or half days at the Danelaw Centre for Living History at Murton Park. The facilities on site include a first century turf and timber Roman Fort, a Dark Age village comprising 20 houses and workshops, a brick built Tudor farm house and garden and a Home Front evacuee centre comprising a farmhouse kitchen, air raid shelter complex, ARP and Home Guard huts and a bomb site. The days are all structured to offer a range of fully inclusive learning experiences.
Follow the links for details of the individual days on offer.
In 2009 the Danelaw Centre for Living History was proud to become one of the first organisations nationally to be awarded the quality mark by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom, an award which reflects the high quality learning experiences provided by the centre.
