Roman School Holiday Activities

6th – 25th August (selected dates see Eventbrite link)

Meet a Roman soldier as he takes you around the fort to train you as new recruits from the Roman province of Britannia.

First thing the children will do to become trainee soldiers and get shown their new home and learn what building is what.

Roman soldiers could not get everything sent from Rome so had to be able to make things themselves. Our young recruits will have the opportunity to make a Roman lamp to take home with them.

The rest of the session will be the time be for military training. This will start with spear and shield training as a team before moving on to sword and javelin training on the campus area of the fort.

These activities are taken from our KS2 (age 7- 11) workshops but children much younger and older still very much enjoy it.

Due to Social Distancing measures this is being limited to a maximum of 6 children per session, no costumes issued, all equipment will be sanitised between groups and staff will wear PPE where appropriate.

All tickets are booked through Eventbrite and cost £5 per child plus 98p Eventbrite booking fee)
