Join John Lambton’s 68th Regiment of Foot and experience the Seven Years’ War.
As winter arrives, the regiment swaps tents for the warmth of local taverns and homes. They wear British army uniforms and showcase their equipment and drill routines.
Feel free to discuss the war or the British army’s role in 18th-century society with the group. Step back in time and immerse yourself in history!
John Lambton’s 68th Regiment of Foot is a member of the Old 68th Society. They are a small UK-based living history group formed in 2008 with HLF funding to commemorate the founding of the Durham Regiment, later known as the Durham Light Infantry, in 1758. They aim to accurately portray life for both soldiers and civilians during the period of 1758-1763 in the Seven Years’ War.
This event is free with an annual pass.
