WILD THINGS: A NATURE PLAY WORKSHOP

Date/time: Thursday 23rd July, 10.30 am – 12 pm

Join us for a fun-filled nature workshop designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and sensory play! Children will explore the wonders of herbs and plants through a variety of hands-on activities inspired by the natural world.

  • Become a Herbal Detective by using your senses to look, smell, touch, and taste different herbs while discovering the fascinating folklore and historical uses of these plants.
  • Get creative with Painting with Nature, experimenting with paintbrushes made from natural materials and herbs to see which textures and patterns work best.
  • Dive into messy sensory play with our Sensory Nature Soup, where children can explore plants through touch, mixing, and imaginative play.
  • Finally, make your own homemade herbal playdough by choosing natural herbs and scents to add before taking your creation home to continue the fun.

This workshop encourages exploration, creativity, and connection with nature through playful, sensory-rich experiences perfect for young children.

WOODLAND MAGIC: FOLKLORE, FAIRIES & CRAFTS

Step into an enchanted world of folklore, legend and magic in this workshop exploring the fascinating history of fairies, elves, and pixies from across cultures and traditions. Discover how these mystical beings have appeared throughout time and learn about the mischievous pixies and secretive fairy folk that are said to live among us.

Perfect for children and families, this hands-on workshop combines storytelling, creativity and magical crafting activities inspired by the folklore of the fae world.

  • Create Your Own Fairy House: Design and decorate a miniature fairy house to take home and begin your very own fairy garden.

Dive beneath the waves and uncover the mysteries of the deep in this magical folklore-inspired workshop exploring mermaids, sea monsters and the legends hidden beneath the ocean surface. Young adventurers will explore mythical sea creatures and ocean legends through hands-on creative activities to make and take home.

Activities include:

  • Deep Sea Creature Terrarium: Create your own underwater habitat and capture a mysterious deep-sea creature in a terrarium of your own.
  • Make Your Own Mermaid or Kraken: Design and craft your own magical mermaid charm or fearsome Kraken monster inspired by ocean legends and folklore.
