Sparkling lights, the scent of gingerbread, and a dash of festive mischief—Christmas at Murton Park is back and bursting with cheer. Our elves have been hard at work to craft a magical season for every age, from tiny tots to grown‑up Santa fans.
Two festive experiences, one joyful destination:
Christmas at Murton Park
Step into Santa’s village and meet his merry band of elves before visiting the big man himself in his cosy log cabin (in a shared visit with other children). Share your wishes and receive special North Pole currency to spend in his enchanting toy shop—then choose your own adventure across the park.
After your visit, snap a keepsake photo with Santa, write a wish for our wish tree, peek inside Santa and Mother Christmas’ home, and explore hands‑on festive fun throughout the village.
Highlights around the park:
Cheeky Elf Driving School in the John Sawkill building—drive with care; Santa’s watching those speedsters!
Tink the Elf’s craft workshop in the main building—make something merry to take home.
Free reindeer food for kids (Rudolph says thanks!) and a complimentary mince pie for adults.
Yorkshire Barn Café serving homemade meals, sweet treats, and festive drinks. A pop‑up café opens in the John Sawkill Building from 6 December 2025.
All aboard the merry mystery!
SLEIGH IT AIN’T SO! Murton’s most mischievous villain, FROSTBITE, is up to SNOW good—luckily the REINDEER DETECTIVES are on the case. Award‑nominated FLADAM THEATRE returns to the Derwent Valley Light Railway with a marvellously merry musical mystery that puts you right in the sleigh‑seat.
Not forgetting Mother Christmas
Take your seat in Mother Christmas’s fabulously festive classroom for 20 minutes of yuletide mayhem. Expect Elfercise. Sing-alongs. Slapstick silliness. And, special moments of Makaton signing, so everyone can join the fun. Learn your ABCs (All Boxes Covered), master essential elf‑skills, and—if you pass—earn your spot as one of Santa’s Stealth Elves. The grand finale? Her famously cheeky twist on ’Twas the Night Before Christmas.
SEN Quiet Weekend
For a calmer visit, book the first weekend—Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 November—when Santa slots are longer and less crowded.
Make this Christmas the one they’ll talk about for years. Wrap up warm, bring your best festive spirit, and we’ll see you at Murton Park.
