Home Front Week at Murton Park is Tuesday, 12th August, to Friday, 15th August
This year, VE Day marked 80 years since the official surrender of all German military operations! Join us in August for a Home Front Week, and mark your calendars for Friday, 15th August, when we’ll host a delightful Living History Day, featuring a fun street party.

BADGE MAKING: Tuesday 12th August, 10.30am-12.30pm
Create a Home Front design (or one of your own) and we’ll turn it into a badge.
50p per badge with park admission.
STORYTELLING: Wed 13th August, 11am & 2pm
A wartime story told in the ARP shed.
Free with park admission.
CRAFT ACTIVITY: Thursday 14th June, 10.30am-12.30pm
Make a craft spitfire plane for £2 per person with park admission.
LIVING HISTORY DAY: Friday 15th August, 11am-3pm.
We’ll be celebrating VE Day 80 with a street party at Murton Park:
- There’ll be fun fair games such as hook-a-duck and splat the rat
- A tea dance accompanied by some wonderful 1940s music – why not have a go yourself?
- A Make Do and Mend display with Tony & Glynnis in the museum
- Join Emma and Emily and learn about the Women’s Land Army and how animals were used in the war
