Experience an exciting summer at Murton Park! Enjoy six weeks filled with fun, featuring Museum Days, Living History Days, reenactment groups, train rides, and monthly kids’ clubs!

Here’s what we’ll be up to:

VANGUARD REENACTMENT Sat 19th - Sun 20th

Vanguard will host an engaging living history display in which its members willeducate the public on the day-to-day life of a person from the 13th Century.

It’s free with park admission.

CRAFT CLUB Sunday 20th July, 10.30am-12.30pm

Kick start the summer with our monthly craft club. It’s free with park admission.

DVLR train rides Sunday 20th July, 11am-4pm

ROMAN WEEK Tues 22nd - Fri 25th July

A Roman CenturionOur 1st century Roman fort will be the backdrop to Roman Week between Tues 22nd and Friday 25th July.

COWBOYS & VIKINGS Sat 26th-Sun 27th July

The Trailblazer Cowboys and Jorfor’s Hall Vikings take up residence at Murton Park for the weekend.

Free with park admission

The theme is ‘sheep’:

  • Learn about sheep breeds
  • Take a look at some sheep-related museum objects!
  • Make your own pompom sheep (£1 with park admission).
PREHISTORY WEEK Tues 29th July - Fri 1st Aug

Home Front Week Tues 12th - Fri 15th Aug

This year, VE Day marked 80 years since the official surrender of all German military operations! Join us in August for a Home Front Week, and mark your calendars for Friday, August 15th, when we’ll host a delightful Living History Day, featuring a fun street party.

Join us during Viking Week to find out what it was like to live as a Viking settler.

From Tues 19th – Friday 22nd August, you can learn about the Vikings through crafts, storytelling and a Living History Day on Thursday 21st August.
